Boston Harbor Hotel is hiring: Barista - Full Time in Boston

Overview

We are seeking a passionate hospitality professional for the role of Barista at the Boston Harbor Hotel, Boston's only Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond waterfront hotel. This role supports crafting and presenting beverages in the specialty coffee program at the Dandelion Marketplace and creating memorable, elevated guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages
• Sanitize work areas and supplies
• Know menu items including grab n' go food and beverages
• Keep all supplies stocked and organized
• Create an excellent Forbes 5-star guest experience
• Receive and process payments on the POS system
• Serve prepared foods as necessary
• Take out garbage and recycling
• Maintain bakery and grab n go cases
• Operate all equipment including the espresso machine, coffee brewer and dishwasher
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Demonstrate the ability to work cohesively with a team
• Self-directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing; a second language is desirable
• Maintain a coachable and emotionally mature demeanor toward teammates, management and guests
• Must be familiar with the local area
• Ability to transport (pull, push) up to 50 lbs
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in specialty coffee and retail; Luxury Environment experience is preferred
