Overview

Social Worker at Samaritan Daytop Village, Inc. provides clinical services including individual and specialized group counseling, intake/screening assessments, crisis counseling, and family counseling. Conducts psychosocial assessments, mental health/mental status examinations, and makes treatment planning recommendations in support of the mission of Samaritan Daytop Village.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct bio-psychosocial assessments, mental status, and mental health evaluations.
  • Conduct individual, couples, group, and family counseling and make referrals for appropriate levels of care with documented SOAP notes.
  • Conduct mental health and substance use screenings for adults and adolescents (12-17) and developmental screens for children (0-5); provide referrals based on screenings.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed until stabilization.
  • Participate in Incident follow-ups as needed.
  • Conduct psychosocial/family assessments and assessments for Supportive Housing as needed.
  • Assist families with barriers to service and make referrals as needed.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely client records compliant with regulatory requirements and agency policy.
  • Comply with 42 CFR confidentiality, HIPAA privacy, and security regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison to community agencies and organizations; foster professional linkages with service providers and referral sources.
  • Design and facilitate specialized therapeutic groups based on client and program needs.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • Minimum of one to three (1-3) years of demonstrated clinical experience in substance use and/or mental health treatment or shelter experience preferred
  • NYS LMSW/LCSW licensure preferred
  • Knowledge of NYC's network of medical and behavioral health care organizations, including substance use disorders, treatment services, education, employment services, and community supports
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR
  • Experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
