Local Contract Job Summary: This position performs MRI procedures ensuring patient safety, accurate imaging, and quality control. Responsibilities include patient screening, positioning, operating MRI equipment, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and documenting procedures in the EMR. Job Responsibilities: -Interviews patient prior to MRI procedure for MRI safety prior to performance of the procedure. -Ensures patient safety, including correctly identifying every patient using approved two (2) patient identifiers at every point of contact in the MRI suite. -Explains the MRI process and instructs patient on the procedure to obtain optimal imaging diagnostic results; answers all related questions and responds to patient's needs or concerns, as required. -Safely sets-up, operates, and adjusts, MRI equipment, selecting proper technical factors to obtain accurate MRI studies; selects software options and imaging parameters, when adjusting an MRI machine; returns equipment to its original location after each scan. -Ensures safety for patients, operator and visitors within magnetic field zone four (4). -Prepares patient for radiological procedure by safely positioning patient for MRI scans, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors; monitors patient during scanning. -Ensures that MRI rooms are clean, organized, and safe for MRI examinations; cleans MRI scanners after each patient use. -Maintains proper-functioning imaging equipment and performs image quality and calibration tests on equipment, as necessary; reports any malfunction to appropriate staff. -Maintains Imaging supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies. -Evaluates images for technical quality and accuracy, ensuring proper identification of all images is recorded, and presents completed images to Radiologist. -Effectively uses electronic medical records (EMR) to document patient encounters and access pertinent patient data and imaging results; keeps other detailed and accurate patient records and results. -Keeps detailed and accurate patient records and results. -Performs related work, as assigned.
Education Requirement: Required Education: -Associate's degree from a Radiologic Technology program. Preferred Education: -N/A Required Certifications & Licensure: -Valid license as a Radiologic Technologist issued by NYSDOH. -Advanced-Level Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) Preferred Certifications & Licensure: -Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).

NYSDOH RAD. TECH. LICENSE REQUIRED **ARRT REQUIRED**
Schedule Notes: Shift: 1p-9p on weekdays and 4p-12m on weekends with alternating weekends
At least 1 year of MRI experience. *Must have level 1 trauma CTR experience Knowledge of Client equipment *Current certification and registration in Magnetic Resonance Imaging issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT). *NYSDOH Rad Tech license required *8:00 AM-4:30 PM and alternating weekends required. *Interviews - In person; open to virtual if candidate is not local *Weekends/Holidays required. *Training will be for 2 weeks, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including the EPIC class. *Experience with Client and Philips equipment*
