The Business Analyst (BA) works on multiple projects that support the agency’s mission of improving outcomes for Texas students. Acts as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow. Involved at some level throughout the entire software development life cycle. After establishing the requirements baseline, focuses on managing the requirements specification and verifying fulfillment of all requirements, including post-implementation enhancements. Qualifications and Skills

8 years: Eliciting requirements from interviews with customers and creating well-written system requirements documents 8 years: Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) 8 years: Business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement 8 years: Development of user stories and use cases conforming to business analysis best practices 8 years: Designing mockups and/or wireframes conforming to UX best practices 5 years: Strong communication and facilitation skills 5 years: Strong writing and organization skills 3 years (Preferred): Work experience with Modern Requirements (requirements management software) 3 years (Preferred): Work experience with Atlassian Jira (issue tracking) 2 years (Preferred): Experience working for or with TEA or another state/local education agency 1 year (Preferred): Experience with TEA applications such as FSP, TSDS, TEA Help Desk Job Details
