LHH is seeking a Director of Accounting for a rapidly growing company in the restaurant and retail industry, located in Dallas, TX. This high-impact position will play a key role in overseeing financial reporting, guiding the accounting team, and streamlining financial operations.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned accounting professional with strong experience in financial reporting, ASC 842 lease accounting, and month-end close processes. In addition to a solid understanding of GAAP, the client is looking for public accounting foundation/background. Experience in covenant and board reporting, as well as exposure to treasury and budgeting functions, is preferred.
Responsibilities
Manage and direct the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements. Prepare and review internal and external financial reports for banks, boards, and investors, including covenant reporting and cash flow statements. Oversee technical accounting matters, especially lease accounting under ASC 842, and ensure GAAP compliance. Supervise, support, and develop a team of accounting professionals including Accounting Managers. Partner with auditors during the annual audit process and support the preparation of financial statement packages. Evaluate and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and systems as the company prepares to bring outsourced functions in-house. Lead or support treasury and budgeting efforts where needed. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred. At least 7 years of accounting experience with 3+ years in a management role. Prior experience in public accounting (3–5 years) or equivalent. Demonstrated background in multi-unit environments, ideally within the hospitality or retail sectors. Proven expertise in GAAP and technical accounting areas, including ASC 842 lease accounting. Experience preparing full financial packages including board decks and lender materials. Strong analytical and communication skills, capable of interacting with senior leadership and external stakeholders. Salary Range: $140,000-$160,000
