The Software Engineer works with business and IT teams to design, develop, and deliver robust IT solutions for Trading and Supply. This role involves contributing to a wide range of projects, including new solutions, defect fixes, enhancements, and turn-key/SaaS technology delivery within a global team. Key Responsibilities Partner with business and IT stakeholders to identify needs, analyze issues, and propose fit-for-purpose solutions. Translate business and functional requirements into clear technical specifications. Lead design, prototyping, development, and testing, following the software development lifecycle and DevOps methodologies. Support turnkey and SaaS solutions, including configuration and deployment of third-party packages. Manage defect fixes, enhancements, patch management, and end-user support. Collaborate with third-party suppliers for change requests, software testing, and deployments. Ensure delivery standards, process improvements, and team communications. Participate in local and global IT activities and knowledge sharing. Core Dimensions/Requirements Experience: 5–7 years in corporate IT, focused on ETRM/CTRM, especially for Energy/Commodity Trading. Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field. Full lifecycle software development and application support. Change management, data integrity, patch management, and end-user training experience. Domain & Technical Expertise Deep knowledge of Energy/Commodity Trading: Trade Capture, Risk Management, Scheduling & Operations, Settlements & Accounting. Strong technical skills in OpenLink Endur (v11+), including JVS & OpenComponents scripting, Connex, TPM, and Grid Enabled Scripts. Experienced in Java, .Net, Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL, and Informatica. Recognizes mature software architectures, software quality, and coding standards. Tools & Methodology Familiar with Microsoft Azure DevOps tools (VSTS, GIT). Adheres to enterprise processes and norms (e.g., scrum, process improvements). Building open, trusting relationships with stakeholders. Managing multiple applications across global teams. Proficient in diagnosing and resolving complex software, database, and memory management issues. Seniority level : Mid-Senior level Employment type : Contract Job function : Oil and Gas
