Manager Sterile Processing
The posted compensation range of $29.02 - $42.08 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law. The Manager will be responsible for the processing and handling of all sterile surgical instrumentation used in Operating Rooms, Cath Lab, Labor and Delivery, and any patient care area; and Responsible for the control and management of the dollar asset for medical supply inventory of said areas. Essential Key Job Responsibilities
Surgical Instrumentation: Ensure proper care and handling, decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation for Operating Rooms, Cath Lab, Labor and Delivery, and all invasive, diagnostic, and treatment areas. Ensure proper and safe functioning of hospital sterilization equipment. Ensure compliance with Regulatory Agency guidelines (JCAHO, CDC, FDA, AORN, EPA, etc.). Develop and revise process practices and monitor service standards of care for surgical instrumentation. Utilize research to promote and advance sterilization practice Medical Supplies: Manage the acquisition, storage, distribution, and rotation of medical supply inventory in the Operating Rooms, Cath Lab, Labor and Delivery, and all other diagnostic and treatment areas, excluding LUM on the Nursing units. Maintain General Ledger/MAPS system interface and reconciliation by monthly cycle counts and year?end physical counts. Direct case cart activities. Provide decision support data in terms of dollars and volume. Maintain an Official Inventory location. Cost/Product Analysis for Decision Support. Automated Inventory Control/Management Human Resources Management: Departmental staffing. Daily HR issues. Develop and maintain staff performance service levels. Actively involved in recruitment and retention. Executive corrective action. Hire/Fire. Staff Development Minimum Qualifications: Education Level Bachelor's Degree in health care related field Licensure/Certification
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL), BLS issued by AHA Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Good computer skills in Excel, Word, and mainframe applications Good communication and problem-solving skills Detailed oriented Strong organization skills Knowledge of hospital sterilization equipment and related regulatory requirements Knowledge of chemical disinfection, decontamination processes, and hazardous chemicals Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and standards of care Knowledge of sterilization processes and alternatives, microbiology, and physiology Experience Four (4) years of experience with sterile processing.
