RetroAIM is seeking a highly motivated Operations Manager (OM) to lead our field and warehouse operations. The OM ensures projects are completed on time, on budget, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory and contract requirements. This role is critical to maintaining customer satisfaction and operational excellence. While the home office is located in Chesterfield, VA and the primary work will be performed in the greater Richmond, VA areas.
Job Responsibilities
Project Management Identify project requirements, expectations, and scope of work.
Develop and maintain project schedules while ensuring compliance with requirements and budget constraints.
Ensure contractual obligations our field staff are completed to Retro standard, contract requirements, project specifications and drawings.
Support project managers by providing foremen with necessary documentation, including submittals, safety documents, project expectations, quality control measures, and contractual obligations.
Attend Meetings as required by the project including weekly meetings as directed by the project manager.
Attend safety meetings.
Assist in project scheduling meeting so Insulating as required.
Support project team by ensuring insulators have the right tools to perform their job safely.
Ensure Retros field personnel are adhering to Retro and project safety requirements.
Champion safety initiatives with field personnel.
Assist project managers in reviewing and tracking project expenses including monthly billings and communicating with foreman project financial milestones.
Facilitate job setup, initial customer engagement, and coordination among Retro staff, including Assistant Project Managers, Estimating, Contract Administration, and Schedule/Time Keeping.
Support the project management team in scheduling and tracking timekeeping for projects.
Mentor and coach insulators in leadership and mechanical skills, ensuring field morale and skill development at all levels.
Material Procurement/Equipment Management.
Assist in sourcing and managing necessary materials and equipment for project execution.
Job Requirements &Qualifications:
Oversee and manage all on-site activities for commercial mechanical and HVAC insulation projects to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and laborers, ensuring work aligns with project specifications and safety standards.
Read and interpret plumbing and mechanical drawings, blueprints, and insulation specifications to ensure proper execution of HVAC insulation work.
Monitor project schedules, track progress, and proactively address potential delays or issues.
Enforce site safety policies, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
Conduct regular quality control inspections of insulation materials, application techniques, and adherence to industry best practices.
Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients regarding project progress, challenges, and necessary adjustments.
Maintain accurate daily logs, site reports, and project documentation, including material usage and labor hours.
Coordinate material deliveries and manage inventory of HVAC insulation supplies on-site.
Troubleshoot and resolve installation challenges, ensuring project efficiency and adherence to contract requirements.
Strong understanding of mechanical insulation materials, applications, and industry standards (e.g., fiberglass, elastomeric, mineral wool, cellular glass).
Knowledge of construction safety regulations, including OSHA standards and NFPA codes.
Experience using construction management software and scheduling tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Microsoft Project).
