Sales Director
at Sipes Asphalt & Concrete Overview The Sales Director will play a pivotal role in driving company growth by managing the estimating and pricing of incoming projects, overseeing the sales team, and ensuring accuracy and consistency in all bids. This position is ideal for a numbers-driven professional who thrives in analyzing project details, approving bids, and managing the sales pipeline without the need for heavy face-to-face selling. Responsibilities
Lead the sales department, including oversight of current sales staff, performance management, and development. Review incoming leads, assign projects to the sales team, and ensure timely follow-up. Accurately estimate and price paving and asphalt projects using company standards and historical data. Approve and finalize bids prior to submission to ensure accuracy, profitability, and competitiveness. Analyze project specifications, drawings, and site information to prepare detailed cost estimates. Develop and implement sales strategies that align with company goals and profitability targets. Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and customer feedback to optimize bid strategies. Collaborate with operations and project management teams to ensure alignment between estimates, contracts, and project delivery. Maintain accurate records of bids, proposals, and sales performance metrics. Report to ownership on sales forecasts, pipeline, and department performance. Qualifications
Proven experience in sales management, estimating, or related leadership roles within construction, paving, or asphalt industries. Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to review technical documents and translate them into accurate estimates. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a sales team. Proficient in estimating software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Physical Requirements
