This position offers a hybrid working model with a combination of onsite and remote work. Key Responsibilities: Ensure all assigned suppliers comply with US Foods standards regarding food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Monitor and evaluate approximately 50-100 vendor facilities across various categories.

Collaborate with vendors to maintain product specifications for branded products, ensuring consistent adherence to food safety and quality protocols.

Conduct risk assessments of vendor facilities through documentation reviews and on-site inspections for approvals.

Serve as the technical expert in key areas such as regulatory performance standards, critical quality attributes, applicable laws, processing techniques, and microbiology.

Actively participate in cross-functional teams to balance innovation and commercialization while maintaining food safety standards.

Provide education and expertise on food safety and regulatory policies to cross-functional partners, particularly tailored to specific categories.

Lead efforts around specific regulatory programs related to assigned product categories.

Collaborate with Product Development to define product specifications and ensure compliance throughout the review process.

Participate in plant trials for new products, ensuring all products meet safety and quality brand standards.

Manage supplier, customer, and internal feedback proactively to enhance product quality and drive continuous improvement.

Analyze complaints and product evaluations to identify trends and improvement opportunities; compile quarterly FSQ scorecards for vendors.

Qualifications:

Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in a related field such as food science, microbiology, or engineering.

PCQI/HACCP certification required.

Auditor certification is strongly preferred.

Related Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Food Safety Quality management, with a focus on developing and implementing food safety programs.

Proven knowledge of FDA (FSMA) and USDA regulatory requirements.

A minimum of 2 years in a food manufacturing environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills.

Outstanding organizational skills with a strong ability to prioritize tasks.

Deep understanding of environmental monitoring programs.

Thorough knowledge of FSMA/Preventive Controls, and food safety plan design and documentation.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence across all organizational levels.

Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 20-30%, which may include international travel.
