Position Summary
Responsible for the complete and satisfactory installation of residential and/or light commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. Communicates with customers to answer questions, resolves problems, and ensures complete customer satisfaction. Promotes products and services to customers. Trains other installers, performs install work on more difficult situations, and assists the Field Supervisor or General Manager on work audits, site supervision, and work planning. Work under the direction of the Field Supervisor or General Manager to install HVAC equipment and accessories in the customer’s home Install heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment, as well as accessories, in accordance with company requirements and manufacturer specifications. Perform limited diagnostics as needed Design, fabricate, and install ducts and duct fittings as required Perform start-ups on air conditioning and heating systems and other components Deliver excellent customer service and sustain high levels of customer satisfaction Promote products and services to the customer. Notify Sales and Service Coordinator with specifics on replacement product sales leads Deliver and remove equipment needed to complete installation work Ensure company property, vehicles, and tools are properly used, maintained, and accounted for Complete all paperwork neatly and timely. Collect payment from customer Represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters Keep installation vehicle clean and neat inside and outside Follow standard procedures, ensure vehicle is stocked, return defective warranty parts to branch, and order/replenish vehicle stock as needed Assist the Field Supervisor or General Manager with site supervision, planning, and estimating Assist with quality audits on selected installations to ensure performance and customer satisfaction Train other installers in technical skills and company procedures as assigned Performs similar/other duties as needed or assigned Health & Safety Roles And Responsibilities
Report any unsafe acts, conditions and hazards to direct supervisor/manager immediately Report any contravention of legislation or company policy to direct supervisor/manager immediately Correct substandard acts or conditions within area of control Use and maintain appropriate PPE as prescribed by company programs Do not remove safety guards, devices, or clothing prescribed to be in place Comply with general rules as prescribed by company programs or procedures Operate devices or equipment as prescribed by company programs or procedures Participate in safety initiatives, teams, or committees Report all injuries or incidents as prescribed Provide input on developing safety initiatives to eliminate exposure that could cause accidents Do not perform acts that may endanger others Avoid pranks or rough behavior Work in compliance with applicable legislative requirements Desired Skills And Qualifications
High school diploma or GED with additional training and 5+ years HVAC experience; technical training certification required Valid licensing or certification as required by local laws EPA and safety certifications required Fundamentals of HVAC equipment operation and related accessories Advanced skills in installing HVAC equipment and related accessories Proficient in duct layout and installation Advanced mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools Proficient in reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems Ability to start up and balance airflow and align belts/pulleys with minimal supervision Proficient in installing electronic air cleaners, refrigeration, hot water systems, steam boilers, humidifiers, and related equipment Ability to calculate heat gain/loss on buildings Effective communication with customers and issue resolution Strong time-management and organizational skills Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record Flexible hours and on-call availability Physical ability to climb ladders, access attics/basements, and maneuver in tight spaces Ability to work in varied environmental conditions Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds Seniority level
