Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Seeking a CAD Engineer to develop and design engineering documentation, including drawings, 3D models, and CAD modules/assemblies. This position requires experience in 3DExperience (CATIA V6) to create 3D designs and 2D drawings of electrical components from initial concept through mass production. Location : Carlsbad, California Position Summary Key responsibilities include: Conduct design feasibility and cost analysis, strength calculations, material selection, part construction, part specification Schedule and coordinate activities involved in prototyping, fabricating, and manufacturing of assigned products and systems Analyze components/parts in area of specialty to endure established layout/quality/cost/performance standards and regulatory requirements are met Apply mechanical knowledge to optimize designs for manufacturing processes Develop and design engineering documentation such as drawings and 3D models Mature the product in the CAD system Redesign existing models as needed Create assemblies of CAD models and resolve packaging conflicts Secure quality and readiness of designs before release Produce technical drawings sufficient to define a product Team Structure Collaborate with onsite and remote engineers and technicians to achieve team and individual goals, furthering our collective mission.
