After Brightline Florida completed the first passenger rail system connecting Miami and Orlando, Brightline West was formed to connect Las Vegas and Southern California through the nation’s first true high-speed, electric passenger rail system. As a Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) you will be responsible for leading all FP&A and strategy activities and participate in capital market matters for the organization. This role requires providing strategic and financial leadership, driving insights and actions from data and analytics, and telling compelling stories that influence decision-making and drive performance. You will collaborate across functions and groups to deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting, planning, forecasting, and analysis. You will also champion a culture of change and continuous improvement, leveraging best practices and benchmarks to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the FP&A function and the business. In this role, you will oversee a team of high performing finance individuals. Your Role
Strategic Financial Leadership: This role leads the company’s strategic and financial planning efforts, working closely with department leaders across the organization to align financial initiatives with broader business goals. Financial Operations & Governance: The position owns the company-wide modeling, forecasting, and budgeting processes, ensuring they are accurate, consistent, and aligned with strategic objectives. Executive & Capital Markets Support: This role collaborates closely with the Executive Team to support capital markets activities, including fundraising and investor relations. Team Development & Leadership: Leading and developing a high-performing FP&A team is a central responsibility of this role. Managerial Responsibility: Direct supervisory responsibility including the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward or discipline or effectively recommend such actions. Experience & Qualifications
Required Education and Experience: Minimum of 10–12 years of direct FP&A experience. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; MBA or CFA preferred. Background in finance, accounting, analytics, capital markets, or investment banking. Strong analytical, financial modeling, and presentation skills with the ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations. Ability to understand complex financing and credit agreements and experience working with lenders. Desired Qualifications Experience: An agile learner with a highly analytical mindset, strong technical finance skills, and solid business acumen. A logical problem solver with a curious attitude who can successfully navigate ambiguity to develop answers and insights. Strong orientation towards results and a resilient work ethic with the emotional intelligence to know when to push harder and when to look for alternative approaches. Demonstrated leadership experience managing a high-performing team to successful outcomes. Ability to navigate a matrixed, fast-paced environment with competing priorities. Exceptional standards and professionalism with high attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills – in addition to competencies around editing and writing - materials produced will be routinely distributed and presented to executive management, board members, investors and other stakeholders.
