Software Engineer V

with a client in

Cupertino, CA (Remote) . This role requires hands-on experience with GPU APIs like Metal or OpenGL and shader programming to build high-performance, visually stunning animations. Rate Range:

$140/hour to 148/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Software Engineer V job responsibilities include: Design and implement advanced animation features for Keynote’s custom animation engine across macOS, iOS, and web platforms. Develop and optimize high-performance graphics using GPU APIs such as Metal, OpenGL, or Vulkan, and write shaders in GLSL, HLSL, or Metal Shading Language. Profile and enhance animation performance, applying state-of-the-art graphics techniques and staying current with industry best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers and engineers, to deliver visually compelling and user-friendly animations. Apply modern testing methodologies to ensure the quality and reliability of animations and visual effects. Contribute to innovation by exploring new graphics technologies and integrating them into the animation engine. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience/skills. Typically, 7+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on graphics or animation systems. Proficiency in GPU APIs such as Metal, OpenGL, WebGL, or Vulkan, and experience with shader programming (GLSL, HLSL, Metal Shading Language). Proven ability to design and optimize high-performance, visually engaging animations and graphics for cross-platform applications.
