The
Plant Processing Manager
is responsible for overseeing daily operations of egg processing, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards, managing staff, production schedules, inventory, and facility sanitation. This role plays a critical part in maintaining regulatory compliance, optimizing production efficiency, and fostering a team-oriented environment within the plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food manufacturing, proven leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and lead egg processing operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.
Write and manage daily and weekly production schedules to meet order demands.
Oversee and manage plant employees, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
Maintain and control labor and supply costs within budget.
Ensure strict compliance with SQF, HACCP, and other food safety standards.
Serve as SQF Practitioner and manage the Food Safety & Quality Program.
Oversee sanitation protocols and work closely with the sanitation team to maintain cleanliness standards.
Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure all processing equipment is operational.
Manage inventory levels, including raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
Fulfill and manage egg orders and ensure timely and accurate distribution.
Prepare and submit reports related to production output, inventory, and compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, logistics, and supply chain.
Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, leadership, and external contacts.
Ensure employee adherence to safety procedures and company policies.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Site Manager.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent .
1–3 years of management experience in manufacturing or the food industry.
HACCP trained and working knowledge of the SQF Code.
Proficient in operating PCs, production software, and ERP systems.
Strong organizational and leadership skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to foster a team-oriented environment.
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
Bilingual in English and Spanish .
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Able to hear and communicate effectively in a production environment.
Must be able to read computer screens, printed reports, and production paperwork.
Manual dexterity required for operating standard office equipment.
Must be able to work in varying temperature conditions (cold, humid, etc.).
