Overview of the Role:
Join our dynamic team as a Grid Market Interconnection Engineer and play a pivotal role in advancing North America's clean energy infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of energy storage technology, ensuring optimal BESS plant controller performance across multiple ISO markets while maintaining regulatory compliance and maximizing ancillary services participation.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical guidance on regulatory compliance for BESS plant controllers across PJM, MISO, SPP, CAISO, ERCOT, and other ISO markets
Review and validate control system designs for NERC and IEEE reliability standards compliance
Develop ancillary services participation strategies for frequency regulation, spinning reserves, and voltage support services
Support ICCP implementation and real-time market communication configuration
Collaborate on setpoint management, state of charge optimization, and market dispatch integration
Translate market signals into PLC control logic and HMI displays
Interface with utility customers, schedulers, and market operators on technical requirements

Stay current with evolving market rules and grid codes affecting energy storage participation
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related field
5+ years of bulk electric system operations experience (ISO, RTO, or utility control center )
Strong understanding of North American electricity markets and ancillary services
Experience with ICCP protocol implementation and configuration
Knowledge of NERC reliability standards and regional compliance requirements
Familiarity with energy storage market participation rules across multiple ISO territories
Understanding of real time dispatch, scheduling, and settlement processes
