Our client is developing and deploying battlefield-ready biotechnology. They move beyond theory, transforming breakthrough science into decisive capabilities that strengthen operators at the edge.
We’re hiring a hands-on Mechanical Engineer who thrives in the shop, not just at the CAD station. This role is about end-to-end ownership- from concept, to prototype, to deployment in the field.
What you’ll do:
Design and build ruggedized, compact mechanical systems for real-world performance.
Prototype components using CNC machining (Fusion 360 CAM preferred), 3D printing, and laser cutting.
Develop and integrate microfluidic and airflow subsystems (manifolds, pumps, valves, sealing).
Apply DFM/DFA and tolerance analysis to ensure designs scale from prototype to production.
Collaborate with electrical + systems engineers on electromechanical integration.
Travel to conduct live demos and stress-tests, iterating based on operator feedback.
What we’re looking for:
Hands-on mechanical design and prototyping experience beyond academic settings
A strong portfolio of independent projects.
Shop experience with CNC, 3D printing, laser cutting.
Background in ruggedized design for defense, aerospace, or medical systems.
CAD/CAM proficiency (Fusion 360 preferred; SolidWorks okay).
Familiarity with microfluidics, airflow, sealing methods, or thermal management.
Mission-critical impact- Your designs will directly support operators in the field.
Ownership- See your work through from blank-sheet design to deployment.
Hands-on engineering- Prototype your own designs in the shop.
Field experience- Get real feedback during live demos and testing.
Competitive package- $120K–$150K salary + meaningful equity.
