Job Title: R&D Engineer
Location: Plymouth, MN
Duration: 12+ Months
Duties: Responsible for providing engineering support in the creation and the development of new medical device products. Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Researches, develops, designs, and evaluates mechanical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment. Conducts feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality. Develops new concepts from initial design to market release. Directs support personnel and coordinates project activities. Writes and submits intellectual property (patents). Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development. Investigates and evaluates existing technologies. Reviews or coordinates vendor activities to support development. Writes and submits professional articles for technical journals. Researches various cost-effective, alternative approaches to current processes. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical or related Engineering degree 3+ years engineering experience required in regulated field Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years’ experience in med device Exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes used in medical devices, specifically deflectable sheaths and/or EP Catheters Familiarity with ultrasound, catheter ring-on-wire electrodes, magnetic location systems, and catheter manufacturing techniques SolidWorks or other CAD experience Education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
