The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in patient care, assisting practitioners, managing patient records, facilitating procedures, and ensuring a seamless patient experience. Primary Responsibilities: Foster a culture consistent with The Corvallis Clinic's Service and Behavioral Standards. Direct patient flow and prepare patients for examinations. Gather and document patient history, vital signs, and chief complaints in the EHR efficiently. Communicate lab and radiology results; instruct patients on medications and treatments per physician’s orders. Handle patient phone calls promptly, ensuring accurate documentation. Assist providers in clinical procedures as per national standards. Engage in continuous education and self-assessment to enhance care quality. Ensure provider schedules are accurate and managed effectively. Administer injections under the provider's supervision, as required. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of shared work areas. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Certificate from a medical assistant program (AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT) or the ability to obtain certification within 60 days of hire. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to receive BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Primary Care or Specialty Clinics. Effective verbal and written communication skills to explain complex issues clearly. Ability to work well with providers, clinical staff, and patients. Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while ensuring quality. Skill in remaining calm and effective during emergencies. Experience working with diverse populations, understanding various age-related communication needs. Tactful in discussing issues and fostering long-term collaborative relationships. Compensation will be based on multiple factors including local labor markets, education, experience, certifications, and more.
