Patient Registration Coordinator , you'll play a significant role as the first point of contact for patients and their families, leaving a critical first impression. Your professionalism and dedication to detail are vital in collecting complete and accurate insurance and demographic information promptly, ensuring high-quality and compassionate care regardless of patients' financial situations. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position, operating Monday through Friday, with a flexible schedule in 8-hour shifts between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. There are no weekend or major holiday obligations, but occasional overtime may be required based on business needs, with voluntary overtime available after 90 days. Our office is located at the Cancer Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center at 625 N 6th St, Phoenix, AZ 85004. Key Responsibilities: Engage with patients and families in person or via phone to complete the registration process, gathering necessary demographics and health information while verifying insurance eligibility and benefits. Respond empathetically to inquiries from patients and caregivers. Conduct benefits and insurance verification efficiently. Handle point of service cash collections, including co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance. Ensure accurate data entry into our computer systems. Scan patient documents and maintain organized records. Schedule patient services and appointments for referrals. Register and pre-register patients for emergency, elective, and planned cases. Utilize various systems including Patient Registration and Electronic Medical Record. Generate, review, and analyze patient data reports, addressing any discrepancies as necessary. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED (or higher). At least 2 years of experience in a Hospital Patient Registration Department, physician office, or related medical field. A minimum of 1 year in a customer service role. Familiarity with insurance policies and procedures for at least 1 year. Ability to work day shifts, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with authorization requests and referral processing. Background in collecting patient copays and deductibles. Proficiency with Google products. Understanding of facility pricing structures and cost estimates. Knowledge of ICD9 (10) and CPT terminology. Familiarity with medical terminology. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a plus. *Note:* The sign-on bonus is available only to external candidates.
