At Amazon, we prioritize health, safety, and well-being above all else. We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team. You will partner with the site operations team to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance with applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and Kaizen events, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in Amazon’s processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our associates. You must build trust with cross-functional operations teams and influence change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. You will communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, and you will instruct and train operations leadership and site WHS professionals in EHS policies while assisting regional teams in incorporating safety standards at sites. Your experience in safety programs and related safety, environmental, and ergonomic knowledge in an operations environment will be crucial. You will be responsible for developing a team of safety managers and safety professionals at your designated site, creating and executing leadership development plans, and clearly communicating organizational direction through your team. As a senior leader, you will assess safety talent to determine bench strength for current and future business needs. Responsibilities

Act as SME of local/regional regulations and company WHS policy. Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon Safety Policies. Measure site performance against published safety policy requirements and develop plans to address deficiencies. Ensure safety record keeping and data integrity; provide Operations with accurate reporting and metrics to support safety initiatives. Deliver on-time and quality projects to Operations. Deep-dive safety metrics; review weekly and monthly incident trends to justify resource allocation to high-risk areas. Propose action plans to Senior Leadership based on site trends. Audit record-keeping practices and Global Safety Database entries for compliance with global standards and local regulations. Audit workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure training, auditing, and scoring consistency. Manage and mentor Safety Managers and Safety Associates at the site. Engage Injury Prevention Specialists (IPS) and Site Leadership to drive long-term actions for incident reduction. Perform targeted Kaizen events in partnership with Operations based on task-related risks (force, repetition, awkward postures). Ensure site leadership and associates are trained and aware of policy responsibilities. Audit the quality, delivery, and effectiveness of safety training; ensure trainer qualifications. Review and revise deployed safety tools to support continual improvement. Partner with corporate and regional field safety personnel to leverage global best practices into NA network standards. Additional Job Elements

Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach. Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts. Work in environments with variable noise levels and temperatures; outdoor loading departments may be involved. Continuously climb and descend stairs where applicable. Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site. Note: Those without adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross must obtain within 3 weeks of start date. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (Basic Qualifications). 7+ years in increasing safety/environmental program responsibilities in manufacturing, production, or service operations, or relevant experience. 7+ years in people and performance management (Basic Qualifications). CPR/First Aid Certification (Basic Qualifications). Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment (Basic Qualifications). Willingness to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, to support direct reports and site needs (Basic Qualifications). Master’s degree (Qualifications). Certified Safety Professional (Qualifications). Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization (Qualifications). Interest in long-term career development through assignments across multiple facilities (Qualifications). Prior experience in a management development training program (Qualifications). Track record of managing safety operations with both salaried and hourly staff (Qualifications). Demonstrated ability to develop others into higher levels of responsibility (Qualifications). Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interfacing with Directors and VPs (Qualifications). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (Qualifications). Equal Opportunity

The base pay for this position ranges from $134,700/year to $222,700/year. Pay is based on factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This is a total compensation company; depending on the position, equity, sign-on payments, and other compensation may be provided in addition to a full range of benefits.
