Patient Access Representative
plays a vital role in delivering exemplary patient-centered service in a clinical or front office environment. Your responsibilities will include greeting patients, checking them in, answering phone inquiries, collecting co-pays and insurance payments, processing paperwork, and performing various administrative duties in a busy, customer-focused setting. Key Responsibilities: Engage with patients and families, both in person and over the phone, to efficiently complete the registration process while collecting vital demographics and health information, and verifying insurance eligibility. Utilize computer systems to enter or verify patient data in real-time, ensuring accuracy of information. Gather clinical information, process referrals, and manage pre-certifications as per insurance requirements. Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and create price estimates as required. Collect patient co-pays and effectively communicate financial obligations to patients. Identify outstanding balances from prior visits and assist in collecting any due amounts. Compile data from patients and coordinate with provider offices to confirm appointments prior to hospital discharges. Respond compassionately to patient queries regarding both routine and sensitive topics. Generate, review, and analyze patient data reports, following up on any discrepancies.
