Clarke University is seeking a dependable and hardworking

Evening Dining Hall Custodian / Dish Room Attendant

to join our Dining Services team. This role plays a key part in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and guests during dinner service.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize dishware, utensils, trays, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment

Maintain cleanliness of dish room and kitchen areas, including sweeping and mopping floors

Empty trash and recycling, and replace liners as needed

Wipe down and sanitize dining hall tables, counters, and other surfaces

Restock cleaning supplies and report maintenance needs

Assist in closing and securing the dish room and dining area at end of shift

Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., ServSafe standards)

Support other dining operations as needed

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Prior experience in food service, janitorial, or custodial work is a plus

Ability to lift to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and work in a hot, fast-paced environment

Strong attention to cleanliness, detail, and safety

Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team

Availability to work evening shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays
