We help brands make data-informed decisions in content and media planning, content and ads measurement, audience activation, and more. We are seeking a curious, forward-thinking, customer-obsessed, and technically-savvy insights leader who can dive deep into our databases to surface insights that add value to customers and the marketplace writ-large. The role reports to the VP Measurement Science and sits within the Measurement Science team, a consultative service organization responsible for using Samba data to add value to customers. This is a net-new role, and the ideal candidate will operate autonomously, navigate ambiguity, and deliver results quickly for the business. This role offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of insights products and services for the media market. What you’ll do
Innovate, Build, Iterate, Launch
– Proactively identify insights and data gaps in the global media landscape, and build automated solutions to fill those gaps. This includes prototype-style insights products (e.g., dashboards, LLM retrieval interfaces) that can be tested with sellers and customers and deployed to production when there is opportunity for monetization at scale. Ideate and Deliver Bespoke, Consultative Insights
– Collaborate with sellers, sales engineers, product teams, and data scientists to ideate and deliver bespoke insights, service, or data solutions for Samba’s most strategic, high-value customers. Deliver Standardized Insights Reports & Improve Retrieval for Internal Teams
– Support business development by delivering standardized insights for prospecting, pitches, and customer outreach; improve retrieval methods for standardized reports to enable self-service insights at scale among sellers. Who you are
Insights MacGyver & Gold Miner
– Entrepreneurial, scrappy, and a creative problem solver who balances velocity with quality and can autonomously mine hidden value from complex datasets. Boardroom Ready, Code Capable
– Comfortable presenting to the C-suite as well as working in a code base to mine, visualize, and interpret data. Customer-Obsessed, Relentlessly Curious, Service-First
– Deep understanding of media customers’ needs and challenges, relentlessly pursuing data-driven insights and servicing customers to earn trust. Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience in media, measurement, activation, or related field. Strong communication skills, executive presence, relentless curiosity. Technical fluency in SQL; comfort with Python; experience with BigQuery and Databricks. Knowledgeable and eager to leverage AI in deliverables. Preferred Skills & Experience
Expert-level understanding of buy- and sell-side media customers. Previous roles in Solutions Engineering, R&D, Marketing or Content Insights, or related fields. Experience as a public spokesperson (speaking at events, podcasts, etc.). Compensation and benefits
Samba TV expects to offer a base salary between $120,000 - $180,000 USD per year for roles in New York or California; actual base salary will depend on factors including location, experience, and performance. Base salary is one component of total compensation, which may include an annual bonus, short- and long-term incentives, health insurance, wellness offerings, life and disability insurance, retirement savings, paid holidays and PTO, and other benefits.
