The Head of GE Aerospace Research Communications is a member of the research center’s senior leadership team and will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the communications strategy for the research center. This position will manage a highly functional team of communicators and event professionals and is responsible for aligning research communications with broader company priorities. The role requires a dynamic individual with expertise in strategic communications, event management, and executive-level engagement. This individual will also ensure cross-functional collaboration with Public Affairs, Government Relations, Commercial Engines & Services, and Defense & Systems to support the growing importance of the GE Aerospace Research Center and the onsite experience in Niskayuna. Main Responsibilities: Oversee all major internal and external events at the GE Aerospace Research Center in Niskayuna, NY, ensuring alignment with the center’s strategic priorities and stakeholder needs. Shape and market the GE Aerospace Research brand through strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader innovation storytelling efforts. Oversee all internal, employee, and site communications efforts, including employee engagement, internal and external events, and executive communications for the General Manager & Senior Director of GE Aerospace Research. Collaborate cross-functionally with Public Affairs, Commercial Engines & Services, and Defense & Systems teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across GE Aerospace. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism, or a related field (preferred). Proven experience in strategic communications, event management, and executive-level engagement. Experience working in a highly technical environment or with technical subject matter. Exceptional written and verbal communications skills. Proven experience working closely with senior executives. Ability to work collaboratively across global teams and drive alignment with broader company objectives. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel). Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a related role, ideally with a large industrial or research organization (preferred). Demonstrated expertise in managing communications during times of crisis or significant organizational change. The base pay range for this position is $150,000 - $275,000 USD Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary.
