Tesla
We are seeking a skilled NVH Engineer to join our Vehicle Design Team, focusing on noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) performance for thermal rotating systems. This role involves designing and conducting tests, analyzing data, and providing actionable feedback to improve vehicle noise characteristics. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including vehicle design and thermal systems groups, will be essential to drive continuous improvement in noise reduction while optimizing cost, mass, and complexity.
What You'll Do
Perform noise and vibration testing on components such as compressors, pumps, and fans for thermal rotating systems
Design and execute vehicle-level NVH tests, delivering detailed reports on thermal system noise performance with structure-borne and airborne contributions
Provide actionable feedback to vehicle design teams on NVH treatments, isolation strategies, and structural improvements for enhanced vehicle noise quality
Own the design validation process for internal fan designs with a focus on NVH performance
Develop and maintain a noise attributes standard for all vehicle design groups, assessing current and future vehicles against this benchmark
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce noise while optimizing cost, mass, and complexity in thermal systems and vehicle architecture
Produce and maintain virtual path analysis data libraries for thermal and vehicle products using transfer path analysis (TPA) methodologies
What You'll Bring
Expertise in rotational acoustic and vibration principles
Experience in physical testing for NVH or durability, with a preference for rotating component testing or complex systems in industries like automotive, rail, aerospace, or energy
Experience in fan design for NVH performance is desirable
Hands-on experience with large data acquisition systems, preferably Siemens TestLab or similar platforms
Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for automation or computational tasks
Experience with CAN or test automation is desirable
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Physics, or equivalent experience
