Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a new clinical laboratory in Richmond, VA to recruit an experienced
Laboratory Manager . This is an exciting opportunity to help establish and oversee a state-of-the-art molecular diagnostics lab focused on infectious disease testing. The laboratory is not yet operational, so the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in both launching and managing daily operations. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the clinical laboratory, ensuring compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory standards.
Perform hands-on molecular testing for infectious diseases, including sample preparation, analysis, and reporting.
Train, mentor, and supervise laboratory personnel, fostering a culture of quality and efficiency.
Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance practices.
Collaborate with leadership to manage workflow, equipment, supplies, and staffing needs.
Ensure the laboratory meets turnaround time requirements and maintains the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.
Serve as the primary point of contact for inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Molecular Biology, or a related life science required.
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Specialist preferred;
MB(ASCP)
strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of clinical laboratory experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Demonstrated experience with molecular infectious disease testing methodologies.
Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations, quality systems, and accreditation requirements.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to balance supervisory responsibilities with hands-on bench work.
Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary of
$85,000 – $105,000 , based on experience.
