Overview
We are seeking a Director of Construction to be responsible for the complete construction process, including project budget preparation, negotiating and preparing construction contracts, developing and monitoring construction schedules, coordinating with tenants and general contractors, overseeing the completion of tenant fit-outs, redevelopments, expansions, and renovations. Job duties will include: providing estimates, budgets and pro formas to Leasing Directors; negotiating landlord work exhibits; reviewing construction plans; securing project building permits; overseeing bid processes, evaluating physical conditions of potential shopping center acquisitions; construction management; and oversight of project-related accounting. Responsibilities
Provide estimates, budgets and pro formas to Leasing Directors Negotiate landlord work exhibits and prepare construction contracts Develop and monitor construction schedules; coordinate with tenants and general contractors Oversee completion of tenant fit-outs, redevelopments, expansions, and renovations Review construction plans and secure project building permits Oversee bid processes and evaluate physical conditions of potential shopping center acquisitions Manage construction and oversee project-related accounting Qualifications
7+ years’ experience with a general contractor or landlord Bachelor\'s in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture or a minimum of 8 years of equivalent experience Ability to travel regularly within the region to project sites Experience with commercial retail real estate construction Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; MS Project a plus The expected salary range for this position is between $160,000 and $180,000. The actual compensation will be based on factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, market and business considerations and other factors permitted by law.
