Job Description
The position of Senior Project Manager takes full responsibility for a variety of electrical projects, from marketing through project closeout and customer follow-up. Qualified candidates will have a successful track record demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of project management responsibilities, including profit, supervision, customer relations, fiscal, and contract management.
Responsibilities include:
Supervise multiple Project Managers managing multiple projects.
Manage electrical construction projects up to $30 million or multiple large projects simultaneously.
Make decisions regarding project cost, schedule, and performance.
Accountable for project planning, execution, job cost tracking, and closure.
Provide monthly project status updates and percentage of completion reports.
Monitor and control projects through on-site foremen to ensure completion on schedule and within budget.
Maintain liaison with owners and other contacts to facilitate project activities.
Plan proactively to prevent problems and resolve emerging issues.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and in-house operations.
Promote cross-selling of other company operations through integrated solutions.
Support a safety-first work environment and safety culture.
Requirements
Minimum 15 years of experience in selling, estimating, and managing multi-million dollar industrial or advanced technology projects.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering plus 10 years of construction project experience; or, in lieu of degree, 5 years as an Electrical or General Foreman on large projects, plus 10 years as a Project Manager.
Proven ability to develop successful relationships and marketing skills.
Extensive knowledge of electrical codes and construction methods.
Experience managing projects with over 100,000 man-hours.
Experience with heavy power distribution, instrumentation installation, and process control/system integration.
Knowledge of project QA/QC procedures and system turnover.
Ability to manage labor, materials, and contracts effectively.
Competency in earned-value tracking, labor efficiency, and crew management.
Proven skill in detailed take-offs and electrical project estimating.
Relevant electrical subcontracting experience is essential.
Benefits
Salary range: $150,000 - $200,000.
Discretionary year-end bonus opportunity.
