Job Description Overview:
• Conducts inspections in Public works right of ways, buildings, tenant
improvement renovations & civil electrical work, shall possess experience &
have knowledge of the materials and understanding methods used in the
installation of electrical components & local code requirements.
• Thorough knowledge and experience in
low voltage IT system s including interpretation of code requirements. • Experience in inspection of electrical rough and finishes not limited to, underground utilities,
high voltage
gear & electrical panels,
400 HZ
conduit racks, conductors, grounding systems, breakers, interior & exterior lighting, fire life & safety systems, smoke & heat sensors,
FM-200 installations , lock out tag out requirements, electrical panel shutdowns,
IT door card
readers and components, security cameras, communication P.A. systems, etc.
Electrical/IT inspection professional shall have:
-a thorough knowledge of the methods,materials and techniques of the electrical/IT trade
-the ability to diagnose violations and hazards in new and existing electrical/IT installations -take a proactive approach during construction
-a general understanding of low voltage systems including fire/life safety and information technology
-the ability to read and interpret contract documents, electrical codes, applicable standards.
-Electrical/IT Inspectors must have the ability to set priorities, the ability to make decisions and work effectively with minimal supervision, t
-the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with stakeholders, contractors, construction workers, the public and mustconduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
Minimum Experience Required:
-3 years or more of experience performing electrical/IT inspections
-Airfield experience: 3 years or more of experience with airfield lighting is required.
-3 years or more of experience performing electrical/IT inspections for Building Construction.
-Possess computer proficiency to review & utilize electronic equipment for contract documents in an efficient manner such as change orders, submittals, RFI's & other inspection documents efficiently with minimal supervision.
-knowledge and experience with Word, excel spreadsheets
-Experience writing clear and concise documents depicting daily progress of the work, may be assigned to a program where the inspector prepares monthly progress payment request, tracks various changes, verifies time and material work, measure, and documents job quantities
-Candidate must possess the ability to work well with others in large programs, is kind, well mannered & respectful all times with colleagues, stakeholders, construction community & the non-construction personnel.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
>Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector
>Proof of NFPE-70E standards. Completion of training must have been achieved within the last 3 years
>Cal-OSHA-30 training prior to assignment. The 30-hour training will have been received within the last 4 years.
>Training & certificate completion of NFPA -13
>Fall protection and Harness
