Fremont YSC is seeking an experienced and highly organized Director to lead and manage the club's Foundation Phase. This person will be tasked with implementing a 'Way of Working' for the coaching staff and fostering an enjoyable and professional atmosphere, for players, coaches, and parents. The position requires collaboration with all club directors for a positive, player-centric environment focused on player development.
As Foundation Phase, Director of Coaching; you will be responsibility for the optimal working environment for the coaching staff in the Foundation Phase, optimal learning experience of the players in the Foundation Phase and providing parent engagement and educational opportunities for parents. Head coach of the U9 age group through the Competitive pathway in the club. Supporting the coaches implementing the Fremont YSC development structure through utilizing the Foundation Phase curriculum and support the coach's personal development. Performing the role through the Fremont YSC Way of Working, weekly individual coach meetings, and periodized development phase coaches' meetings. Manage and implement the player IDP, supporting coaches understanding and encourage player and parent engagement. Ensure the completion of player reports from training and game days from the coaching staff, and periodized player development plans. Perform periodized coaching assessments throughout the season and observing training sessions and games throughout the season. Develop and maintain trust and strong relationships with players and parents in the Foundation Phase. Maintain a retention rate, and consistent recruitment of players to support the needs of the foundation phase age group structures, to support the team rosters in each age group. Implementing the Fremont YSC Way of Working for the coaching staff and fostering an enjoyable and professional atmosphere, for players, coaches, and parents. Collaboration with all club directors for a positive, player-centric environment focused on player development Oversee the coaching operations of Fremont YSC, ensuring the Foundation Phase runs efficiently and effectively Maintain clear structures, policies, and processes that support the success of players, player families, and coaches aligning with Fremont YSC methodology and off-field behaviours and values. Foster the development of players for opportunities to progress to high level platforms, (PDP, ID2, ODP) and on a pathway to being selected for the Senior teams. Build and foster an enjoyable, inclusive, and collaborative environment that encourages the personal and professional growth of players and coaches. Promote open communication between players, coaches, and families, ensuring transparency and trust within the club Recruit, develop, and manage a team of highly effective coaches, ensuring there is alignment in understanding of methodology and implementation methods and practices across all club teams. Organize periodized meetings and workshops to foster collaboration, provide continuous education on best practices, and deepen knowledge of methodology. Provide ongoing feedback and professional development opportunities for coaches to ensure high-quality training and player development in line with the club's philosophy Collaborate with coaches to create individualized development plans tailored to each player's needs and potential. Providing constructive feedback that reflects the club's player-centric approach and commitment to learning Coordinate schedule and registration for try-outs to ensure smooth operations across the Foundation Phase. Ensure compliance with NorCal Premier regulations and uphold Fremont YSC standards. Represent Fremont YSC by fostering relationships with parents, and others throughout the community. USSF B License (or international) license required Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Coaching, or a related field preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in youth development Knowledge of NorCal Premier policies and procedures Strong commitment to learning and implementing the Fremont YSC methodology Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams, schedules, and priorities effectively Proven ability to create a collaborative and enjoyable environment for players, coaches, and parents. Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on relationship building and teamwork. SafeSport Trained (can be completed during onboarding) Background Check (completed during onboarding)
