Job Description - Technical Product Manager, Warehouse Execution Systems (WES)
Overview
We are seeking a
Senior Product Manager
to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of our Warehouse Execution Systems (WES) platform. This role will drive the next generation of automation software that powers our distribution and fulfillment network, including
conveyor routing, sortation, order streaming, task orchestration, goods-to-person integration, and robotics enablement .
As a Senior PM, you will own highly complex, mission-critical products that directly impact operationalthroughput, customer experience, and cost efficiency. You will work closely with engineering leadership, operations, and vendor partners to deliver scalable, reliable, and future-ready solutions.
This role requires a
technical product leader
who can fluently engage with engineers on architecture and system design, while also translating operational needs into business outcomes for executives.
Key Responsibilities
Product Leadership Define and own the
long-term strategy and vision
for WES products, ensuring alignment with enterprise supply chain goals. Develop and maintain a clear roadmap, balancing near-term operational needs with long-term innovation. Act as the product evangelist, influencing cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership. Execution & Delivery
Translate high-level business objectives into
detailed technical product requirements
and user stories. Lead prioritization across competing demands using data-driven frameworks (throughput, cost savings, service levels). Partner with engineering to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of features that improve
scalability, resiliency, and efficiency
. Monitor product health in production, leveraging telemetry, analytics, and KPIs to inform continuous improvement. Technical Collaboration
Deeply understand the technical landscape of warehouse automation: WES, WMS, PLCs, robotics, APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms. Contribute to system design discussions, evaluating trade-offs between reliability, performance, and cost. Ensure that architecture decisions align with enterprise standards for
security, integration, and scalability
. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Serve as the bridge between engineering, supply chain operations, and external vendors. Manage dependencies with upstream (WMS, OMS) and downstream systems. Influence vendor roadmaps and assess build vs. buy opportunities. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Identify opportunities to optimize labor, reduce downtime, and increase throughput. Explore AI/GenAI, machine learning, and advanced analytics to drive next-generation WES capabilities. Champion a culture of experimentation and iterative improvement. Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or related field. 7+ years of product management experience, including at least 3 years in a senior PM or equivalent leadership role. Strong technical acumen: comfortable with APIs, microservices, cloud-native architecture, and system integration. Proven track record of delivering complex enterprise software products with measurable business impact. Exceptional communication skills - able to simplify technical concepts for executives and inspire confidence across teams. Preferred:
Experience in warehouse automation (WES, WMS, WCSs, conveyors, robotics, material handling equipment). Familiarity with real-time systems, telemetry, and distributed computing at scale. Exposure to supply chain optimization, logistics technologies, or robotics platforms. MBA or MS in Engineering/Computer Science is a plus. Competencies
