Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. The YouTube Music Integrations team strives to deliver a seamless, high-quality music experience to users on all their devices, ensuring YouTube Music (YTM) is available everywhere. Our mission is to integrate YTM into the hardware ecosystem, from wearables to automotive platforms, which represent significant growth vectors for our users. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution, maintenance, and evolution of hardware integration delivery and serve as the technical expert for all Music teams working on or adjacent to hardware integrations. Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical expert and consultant for all Music teams on hardware integration, providing technical guidance and setting strategic direction. Identify, predict, and mitigate technical risks associated with the software-hardware development life-cycle before they materialize. Drive technical excellence and architectural best practices, with a focus on high performance, memory optimization, and power efficiency for resource-constrained hardware. Architect robust solutions for core system integrations, including intermittent network connectivity, and interaction with native platform services (e.g., vehicle data, watch sensors). Lead complex design reviews and represent the Music Integrations team in cross-organization working groups, and provide mentorship to junior engineers on best practices for software-hardware integration, system design, and code quality.
