F-22 Lab Manager - Flight Simulation Labs

The Flight Simulation | Labs organization at The Boeing Company is currently seeking a
F-22 Lab Engineering Manager
to lead a team responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of all F-22 labs. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization in
Berkeley, MO .
This manager has responsibility for maintenance of all hardware within the F-22 Agile Integration Lab (AIL), Flying Test Bed (FTB), Boeing software development labs, as well as architecture and automated processes that support and/or can improve these labs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct oversight of lab operations engineers and indirect oversight of lab technicians.
The F-22 lab manager coordinates with the F-22 test architect to ensure the lab is prepared to integrate any new equipment and capabilities coming through the F-22 pipeline. The F-22 lab manager will also work with the Boeing Flight Simulation | Labs team to help modernize the F-22 system lab using processes and improvements already in place in other Boeing system labs. These improvements include design of new lab support hardware, integration of new aircraft and support equipment, update of lab architecture, automated lab set up and testing processes, as well as other improvements. The Flight Simulation | Labs organization provides a comprehensive simulation and laboratory solution for the design, development, integration and deployment of Boeing defense products.
The position will manage employees performing multiple engineering tasks including requirements development, hardware development, software development, verification testing, system analysis, and simulation/SIL deployment and testing. The engineering leader will be responsible for developing and executing project plans, acquiring resources for project development, developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical oversight on team activities, leading process improvements, and employee development.
Position Responsibilities:
Ensure Mission Systems Equipment on the FTB is available to support all ground and flight testing Test execution oversight, tracking labs status, providing team direction, and reporting regularly to the program Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes Manages, develops and motivates employees Travel:
Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required and would be about 5%.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
(A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
This position requires the ability to obtain clearances for Special Access Programs.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering 3+ years of experience leading a project or team Development, integration, and testing experience Experience with managing projects using Earned Value Management Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer satisfaction Strong communication skills - written/verbal Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Background in Mission Systems engineering development activities Simulation or System Integration Labs experience Experience leading multiple parallel development schedules Relocation:
