The Assistant Project Manager assists in managing all aspects of a project in coordination with the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager. This position will support preconstruction activities, contract administration, project schedules, budget and materials management. Position Logistics Work Environment: On-Site Location: This position will be working on a project near the Des Moines, Iowa area. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday Work Type: Full Time Position Responsibilities: Assist in plan reviews, quantity takeoffs, and bid preparation to support budget development and vendor selection. Submit building permit applications and coordinate utility requirements, including Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) crane determinations. Participate in job start-up meetings and preconstruction planning activities. Support subcontractor coordination, including thorough understanding of scope, invoice review, and change request processing. Coordinate the Request for Information (RFI) process and ensure timely posting of updated record drawings and documents for version control and field accuracy. Review and process shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines. Manage electronic project documentation, including uploading, downloading, and organizing files for accessibility and version control. Assist the Superintendent with Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, weekly updates, and daily huddles. Track labor costs, support material procurement, and assist with cost coding and financial reporting. Conduct Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) inspections to ensure work aligns with plans and specifications. Assist with review and tracking of PCOs (Potential Change Orders) and compiling PCCO's (Proposed Contract Change Orders) Participate in punch list tracking, final closeout documentation, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items. Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors. We're Seeking Individuals Who Have: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Proven track record of ensuring accuracy in project documentation & reports. Strong ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple projects and timelines. Excellent interpersonal skills for cultivating and maintaining client and team relationships. General understanding of contractual, financial, schedule and risk mitigation elements of construction projects Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project. Significant experience with Bluebeam and Procore is strongly preferred. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred. 4+ years of relevant construction experience. OSHA 10 certification preferred. Total Rewards Approach
Our salary ranges are established based on a combination of market data, internal equity, and the unique characteristics of our organization such as our size, revenue, and industry. Within the range, individual pay is determined by multiple factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
