Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, patient-centered Board Eligible or Board Certified Psychiatrist to join our dedicated team in providing high-quality care on our 28-bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit. Our unit serves individuals with a broad spectrum of mental health conditions, offering a dynamic and collaborative clinical environment. This position follows a 7-on/7-off schedule, promoting work-life balance while allowing for continuity of care. The ideal candidate will be committed to our mission of transforming mental health care delivery—placing patient autonomy, dignity, and holistic healing at the center of everything we do. Key Responsibilities
Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and daily rounds on patients. Develop comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with nurses, social workers, and other team members. Participate in treatment team meetings, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary case conferences. Provide supervision or consultation to other staff as needed. Offers opportunity to teach medical students Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree. Completion of an accredited residency program in Psychiatry. Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry. Licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina DEA certification and the ability to prescribe controlled substances. Inpatient psychiatric experience preferred, but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
