We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Assistant EDI Manager
with a strong technical background to support and enhance our electronic data interchange (EDI) operations. This role goes beyond traditional EDI support, requiring the ability to manage system integrations, troubleshoot complex data issues, and collaborate with business teams to optimize workflows. The Assistant EDI Manager will ensure that trading partner communications, transactions, and system connections run efficiently, securely, and with minimal downtime. Key Responsibilities
EDI Operations & Support
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot daily EDI transactions (850, 810, 856, 940, 945, etc.), ensuring accuracy and timely processing. Investigate and resolve data mapping, translation, and communication errors. Assist in onboarding and configuration of new trading partners.
Technical Development & Integrations
Work with EDI Manager to design, implement, and maintain EDI maps, workflows, and ERP integrations. Use EDI translation tools (e.g., SPS Commerce, TrueCommerce, and others) to build and optimize maps. Develop automation scripts and procedures to reduce manual intervention in transaction flows.
Analysis & Continuous Improvement
Conduct root-cause analysis of recurring issues and implement long-term fixes. Monitor EDI system performance and recommend technical upgrades or process improvements. Assist with vendor compliance reporting, chargeback prevention, and KPI tracking related to EDI performance.
Collaboration & Leadership
Support the EDI Manager in managing relationships with trading partners, retailers, and third-party service providers. Serve as a point of escalation for technical EDI issues requiring in-depth system knowledge. Create product spreadsheets for customer.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 5+ years of hands-on EDI experience, at a consumer products company,
with a strong emphasis on mapping, integration, and troubleshooting. Technical proficiency with one or more EDI platforms (e.g., Cleo, Sterling Integrator, SPS Commerce, TrueCommerce). Experience integrating EDI with ERP/WMS systems a plus. Knowledge of MS Dynamics GP a plus Familiarity with SQL queries, scripting (Python, PowerShell, or similar), and basic database concepts preferred. Strong knowledge of ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, and API/web service integrations. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines. Strong communication skills to bridge technical requirements with business needs.
