Fordham University invites nominations and applications for the position of Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Provost is responsible for advancing Fordham’s academic mission, supporting faculty and student success, and ensuring that the values of scholarly excellence, ethical inquiry, and service remain central to its Catholic, Jesuit identity. The successful candidate will have a record of scholarly achievement, a commitment to Fordham’s Jesuit, Catholic identity and values, and a demonstrated ability to lead institutional transformation. They will also have a student-centered mindset, an entrepreneurial and data-savvy orientation, and collaborative and collegial leadership skills. Responsibilities include providing strategic leadership, overseeing academic affairs, faculty affairs, curriculum and program development, graduate and professional education, student success, accreditation, global engagement, and research strategy. The Provost will also serve as Fordham’s academic ambassador, representing the University to external partners, donors, peer institutions, and civic leaders. Required qualifications include an earned doctorate or terminal degree, academic stature and credentials, commitment to mission, change leadership with accountability, student-centered mindset, entrepreneurial and data-savvy orientation, and collaborative and collegial leadership. Preferred qualifications include experience in expanding capacity in STEM, healthcare, and interdisciplinary fields, as well as experience in managing complex budgets and aligning resources with strategic priorities.
