Tax Manager
Dallas–Fort Worth, TX – remote
One of our global clients in the midmarket supply chain space is currently hiring a
Tax Manager
to take ownership of tax compliance, ASC 740 provision work, and oversee all U.S. tax filings. This role also includes indirect tax oversight (sales and VAT) and leadership of two direct reports. Compensation:
$135K–$150K base + bonus What You’ll Do:
Lead the review and coordination of federal, state, and local tax filings with supporting documentation Manage quarterly and annual income tax provisions in alignment with ASC 740 and internal reporting cycles Oversee tax-related journal entries and reconciliations Conduct technical tax research to support both compliance and provision efforts Stay up to date on evolving tax laws and evaluate their impact on the organization Liaise with external tax firms and auditors to ensure accurate reporting Identify planning opportunities to improve effective tax rate and optimize tax strategy Support audit and internal controls work related to tax Respond to tax authority audits, inquiries, and notices Collaborate across departments (Accounting, FP&A, Legal) to align on tax strategy and financial impact Enhance and streamline tax processes and reporting tools What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related; CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred 5–7+ years of experience in corporate and/or public tax roles Deep understanding of ASC 740 and multi-jurisdictional tax compliance Solid analytical and organizational skills with a process improvement mindset Proficiency with tax software (OneSource, Corptax, etc.) and Excel Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Vaco is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
