Production Supervisor Job at PPG Industries, Inc in Salem

As a Production Supervisor, you will execute the production plan and supervise group leads and hourly associates throughout the shift. You will oversee multiple activities simultaneously and take ownership of the output of your team. A working knowledge of machinery, equipment, and processes is expected. You will collaborate with other functions within the facility to implement plant-wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce safety procedures to minimize employee injuries.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety guidelines.
• Perform incident investigations and root cause analysis for all incidents.
• Achieve daily production and OEE targets by scheduling and prioritizing tasks.
• Analyze data, investigate issues, and implement solutions to resolve problems.
• Maintain records and reports on production metrics.
• Communicate job expectations and coach employees to meet productivity and quality standards.
• Assess employee training needs and facilitate skill development.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and systematic processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required, with 10+ years of manufacturing/production experience, OR a bachelor’s degree with 1 to 5 years of experience.
• Leadership or management experience is preferred.
