Custodian - Laguna Niguel at YMCA of Orange County

The YMCA of Orange County has an immediate need for a Custodian at our Laguna Niguel YMCA. This part-time position performs custodial duties including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, cleaning and restocking restrooms. It also involves facility and equipment inspections, maintaining and restocking custodial supplies, and identifying, reporting, and executing minor repairs. This role requires mandatory Sunday shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform custodial tasks including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, cleaning and restocking restrooms on time and with attention to detail.
  • Maintain and restock custodial supplies such as soap, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, and other items as needed.
  • Maintain and clean windows, mirrors, cardio equipment, strength equipment, and fans in facility.
  • Maintain and dust interior plants in facility.
  • Perform facility and equipment inspections, identify maintenance and housekeeping needs.
  • Mix cleaning solutions and chemicals in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners.
  • Comply with all safety and health procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Follow and enforce safety standards and other policies and procedures.
  • Identify, report, and execute minor repairs as necessary.
  • Carry out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience as a custodian preferred.
