We are looking for an experienced Residential Solar Lead Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical components of residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical systems, a high degree of technical proficiency, and a passion for renewable energy.

Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Installation: Install electrical components of solar PV systems, including inverters, wiring, conduit, and other necessary hardware.
  2. Equipment: Experience installing Enphase and SolarEdge a plus.
  3. System Testing: Perform system testing to ensure proper operation and adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
  4. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical issues in solar PV systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  5. Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes, as well as company policies and standards.
  6. Documentation: Complete detailed and accurate documentation of all installations, services, and repairs.
  7. Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to explain system operation, troubleshoot issues, and provide excellent customer service.
  8. Safety: Follow and enforce all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  9. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including installers, project managers, and sales representatives, to ensure successful project completion.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrician apprenticeship program or technical school preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a licensed electrician, with specific experience in solar PV systems preferred. Experience working on both AC and DC required.

Skills:

  1. Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and electrical codes.
  2. Proficiency in using electrical testing tools and equipment.
  3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  4. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Licenses: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Working Conditions:

  1. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
  2. Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs).
  3. Flexibility to work occasional weekends and overtime as needed.

The targeted compensation for this role is between $25.00 and $32.00 per hour, however, it may vary depending on location. Illinois compensation expectations are between $25.00 and $32.00 per hour.
