Overview Our client’s leading AEC firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer/Manager to join their growing team in either Nashville, TN or Louisville, KY. This role is ideal for a technically strong, hands-on engineer who can also manage projects from start to finish. The position offers a 50/50 split between structural engineering and project management responsibilities and will directly support senior leadership by offloading project oversight and technical workload. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment on private-sector projects across commercial, healthcare, and wastewater markets.
Key Responsibilities Serve as the technical lead and project manager on multiple active structural projects Oversee project scope, budget, scheduling, and coordination while performing detailed design work Create and review structural drawings, calculations, and specifications Collaborate with clients, architects, and construction teams across all project phases Mentor junior engineers and support staff Ensure all designs meet applicable codes and quality standards Support occasional business development or proposal efforts as needed
Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) 10+ years of structural engineering experience , including active design and project oversight Strong background in
private-sector design
(consulting/design firm experience preferred) Proficiency in materials and structural systems including
steel, concrete, masonry, and wood Skilled in tools such as
RISA, EnerCalc, Revit, and AutoCAD Knowledge of
ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, and IBC
standards Strong project management, time management, and communication skills Preferred Experience Design experience in
wastewater facilities, commercial buildings, and healthcare projects Familiarity with leveraging
AI tools or automation platforms
to streamline documentation, proposals, and internal workflows is a strong plus Familiarity with construction processes and ability to engage with job site teams Based in or willing to relocate to
