Key Responsibilities

  • Therapeutic Counseling Services Implementation

    • Establish and maintain strong, accountable relationships with all scholars who receive in-school therapeutic counseling.

    • Determine the appropriate goals for a caseload of scholars using observation and data collection.

    • Lead therapeutic sessions with scholars in grades K-8th in both the individual and small group setting.

    • Collaborate with Resurgence Hall stakeholders to share scholar progress and to suggest strategies for supporting all scholars.

  • Counseling Services Management

    • Manage the counseling referrals received from Resurgence Hall staff and families, including sending, receiving, and tracking the consents for counseling for each scholar.

    • Manage the scheduling of all services for scholars on the caseload.

    • Manage the communication with scholars’ families regarding entry/progress/exit within the Counseling program.

    • Collaborate with Resurgence Hall staff to identify scholar needs, strategies, and determine solutions for all scholars.

  • Counseling Data Management

    • Track the progress towards individual and small group therapeutic goals with daily data collection.

    • Manage and maintain the department-specific data tracking systems and dashboards, including session attendance, session and meeting notes, etc.

  • Schoolwide Support

    • Support the planning and implementation of social-emotional curriculum and programming for grades K-8

    • Provide support to the entire Resurgence Hall community as an integral part of the Crisis Response Team in the event of a community crisis.

    • Lead the Resurgence Hall Suicide Protocol when necessary with all involved stakeholders.

    • Serve and support Resurgence Hall staff and scholars as one of the school’s designated reporters, including completing DFCS reports as necessary.

    • Conduct home visits for Resurgence Hall scholars as required.

    • Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Manager of Scholar Supports and/or her designee.

Qualifications/Certification-The ideal candidate holds a valid Georgia certification or licensure as a School Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). A master’s degree or higher in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field is required.

Prior Experience-All candidates should demonstrate experience supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional well-being within a school or youth-serving environmentOR experience with individual and small group counseling in a therapeutic setting.

StartDate- Immediate. This is a part-time role with a suggested schedule of Monday - Wednesday, 10:45 AM - 3:45 PM; Thursdays and Fridays 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Compensation- This is a part-time role at $45/hr.
