We are hiring for a Part-Time position and expected work 24 hours per week, typically working daytime hours, Monday-Friday, with the occasional evening or weekend.

Foxdale Village is a life plan community guided by Quaker values, a non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in State College, PA. Foxdale was founded in 1985 by members of the State College Friends Meeting and is founded on the values of treating all with dignity and respect. Foxdale Village includes 57 apartments and 148 cottages, and offers health services including skilled nursing, memory care neighborhoods, and personal care with private accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation using wheelchair-accessible vehicles (twelve-passenger bus and nine-passenger van).
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service while understanding the needs of elderly adults.
• Transport residents to and from local medical appointments, community events, grocery shopping, other non-medical appointments, and long-distance medical appointments (long-distance trips may include Altoona, Danville, and Hershey, PA).
• Assist with passenger loading/unloading, including mobility devices, and help residents with groceries and personal belongings when appropriate.
• Support other Foxdale Village departments by picking up/delivering supplies to/from local businesses.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of vehicles, including seatbelts and mobility device securement straps.
• Carry a cell phone while on duty to maintain communication with the Transportation Coordinator and doctors’ offices.
• Complete pre- and post-trip inspections, mileage logs, maintenance logs, and first aid kit logs; report maintenance needs or concerns to the Transportation Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Related driving experience preferred.
• Language: Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
• Math: Must be able to complete tasks using basic mathematical skills.
• Training: Must possess a valid PA Driver’s License. On-site training is provided.
• Strength: Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift at least fifty pounds (with assistance when needed). This position requires non-sedentary work.
• Other: Reliability is crucial.
