Overview

Custodian - NE_Administration-101. The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a part-time Custodian opening for the Greenville Corps, located in Greenville, NC.

Responsibilities

• Cleans the Corps building to ensure neatness and cleanliness daily.
• Assists in monitoring light fixtures; replaces light bulbs as needed.
• Helps keep grounds clean and free of trash; ability to use a ride mower, push mower, and edger.
• Assists in setting up meeting rooms with tables and chairs; cleans meeting areas after meetings are finished.
• Follows instructions and works well with others.
• Drives The Salvation Army vehicles as needed for food pick up or other errands.
• Performs other related work as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to perform general maintenance and cleaning activities for buildings and grounds.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Ability to read and communicate in English; bilingual a plus but not required.

Education and Experience

• No formal education or experience required; Six (6) months experience performing general housekeeping duties preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications

• Valid State Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to meet attendance requirements; ability to perform housekeeping and minor maintenance tasks requiring physical energy.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and climbing; ability to lift 35 to 75 pounds.
• Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or disagreeable sights and odors.
