Job Goal:
Performs custodial duties as assigned by the Facilities Specialist. Develops and implements custodial services to provide a clean, comfortable, healthy, safe, and attractive environment for staff and visitors.
Job Qualifications:
Must possess a High School Diploma or its Equivalent. Physical ability to perform essential functions listed below. Neat and clean appearance. Able to get along with adults. Good moral character, honest, dependable, and courteous. Able to follow instructions and must have the quality of inquiring before taking action on items with which one is not familiar. Able to read and write.
Essential Functions:
Cleaning-scrub, wax, buff, high dust, dust mop, and sweep all floors, wipe walls, blinds, furniture, bathrooms, offices, hallways, common areas, and glass surfaces, remove trash daily from ALL regions. Perform the following duties in the staff lounges:
Clean the staff lounge floors. Clean bathroom/locker room. Clean hand washing sink(s). Empty trash in staff lounges and cafeteria areas. Wipe down counters, sweep and mop floors daily. Assist in snow removal. Performs other duties assigned by Facilities Specialist. Reports ALL concerns to the Facilities Specialist.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, use hands to the finger(s), handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, use fingers to type and/or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, and color vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. If lifting more than this weight is necessary, the assistance of a second person is required. The physical demands of this position will also include the ability of the individual to perform all of the essential functions and related responsibilities of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Work Environment:
This position normally performs the majority of work at the Transportation Depot and the work office environment.
