Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Material Handler is responsible for delivering all requested materials between work centers (including the warehouse). This position is also responsible for receiving; correctly labeling and correctly organizing all laminated board material back into the Warehouse. In addition, the Material Handle may be asked to stage all material to be requested for the following day. The Material Handler III is also responsible for emptying the trash/grinder bins located throughout the plant based on the Trash/Grinder Schedule. Material Handler III will be responsible for delivering requested material to the plant. In addition, the Material Handler will be responsible for cycle counts of the material in the Warehouse and will act as the backup to the Lead in his absence. The Material Handler III will be responsible to follow of Leedo Forklift Safety Procedures as well as Preventative Measure Procedures.
Essential Functions and Duties: Responsible for delivering material to the plant as needed for production Responsible for staging all material requested for the following day. Responsible for receiving material for vendors and performing inbound quality inspections Responsible for preventive maintenance action items performed daily at company standards for forklift. Responsible for cycle counts for material in the Warehouse Responsible to backup Material Handler I & Material Handler II positions Responsible to backup Lead position in the Warehouse Responsible for leading by example in regard to attendance, PPE requirements, breaks, and to "Drive" compliance in all areas. Responsible for completion of daily scheduled work within the scheduled hours Responsible for following all work center processes. Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to physically perform daily tasks, including lifting of large particleboard sheets or parts weighing in excess of 50 lbs or more. Must be able to perform written data entry tasks. Must be able to safely drive a forklift. Must be able to distinguish between different species of wood. Must be able to distinguish between different laminate paper colors. Must be able to perform basic math skills and the ability to read a measuring tape and caliper in metric dimensions. Must have a strong sense of urgency in accomplishing hourly goals and daily duties. Must have a basic ability for reading and writing in English. Education and Experience
Should have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Will take work experience and proven math, reading, and writing skills in lieu of formal education. Experience with driving forklifts is preferable. Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions
Enclosed but not air-conditioned or heated factory environment. Will include long hours of standing, some heavy lifting, and areas where eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators are required.
