Responsibilities

  • Test electronic units using standard test equipment and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine the need for adjustment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what maintenance is needed.
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronic units, applying knowledge of electronics theory and components.
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working independently or with engineers.
  • Identify complex problems and evaluate options to implement a solution.
  • Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.
  • Assemble, test, and maintain test equipment or electronic systems according to engineering instructions.
  • Maintain inventory of test equipment, related documentation, and location of equipment.
  • Maintain working knowledge of test equipment, tools or software by attending workshops or other training.
  • Watch gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure machines, environmental chambers, and electronic equipment are functioning properly.
  • Determine the type of tools and equipment needed to perform a specific job.
  • Troubleshoot failures to the component level and maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet departmental and organizational requirements.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge and ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, measuring devices, lab standards, and test equipment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Windows.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and handling changing priorities.
  • Knowledgeable in electronics and computer equipment, testing and processing, and troubleshooting circuit components.
  • Knowledge of incoming test requirements, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing testing effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • An associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or military training.
  • 3+ years of related work experience.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance, work in confined areas, and crouch or stand for extended periods while taking measurements.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate test systems, test equipment, computer systems and troubleshoot.
  • Demonstrated ability in utilizing test software and platforms.

Manufacturing Environment

9/80 Sunday - Wednesday 10:30 PM – 8:00 AM; Thursday 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM. Additional hours as needed to support customer needs.
