Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join a surgical team with our client located in Dunwoody. The OR RN will be responsible for providing direct and individualized nursing care to patients during surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other perioperative staff. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. Seeking candidate that will train with current OR RN for urology procedures.
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and half day on Fridays; 7am-3:30/4 pm (can be full-time some weeks depending on surgery schedule and availability)
Pay: $39-46/hour depending on experience
ACLS and GA RN License Required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care to surgical patients.
- Assist in preparing the OR for surgical procedures, including ensuring sterility and proper functioning of equipment.
- Circulate or scrub as needed depending on the case requirements.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and condition during surgery, communicating changes to the surgical team.
- Ensure all surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies are properly accounted for before, during, and after procedures.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in OR readiness and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
- License: Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred
- Must pass background and drug screen
- Must have immunizations Hep B & C, physical and TB test, flu shot during flu season or sign declination form.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in an outpatient surgery center or hospital OR setting.
- Familiarity with a wide range of surgical procedures (general surgery, urology, orthopedics, neuro, cardiovascular, etc.).

- Strong attention to detail and adherence to sterile procedures.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond quickly to emergencies.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to scrub as needed depending on the schedule requirements
- Proficient documentation for OR and perioperative protocols.
